Cheryl Porter is a singer, songwriter, and producer from San Francisco, California. She is best known as a member of R&B group, The 49ers.
Porter began her musical career in the early 1990s as a member of The 49ers. The group found success with their first album, It's the 49ers, released in 1992. The album produced the hit single "Don't Wanna Be a Player," which topped the Billboard R&B charts.
The 49ers disbanded in the mid-1990s, and Porter began working as a solo artist. She released her first solo album, Cheryl Porter, in 1997. The album included the singles "I Wanna Be Loved" and "If You're Gonna Leave."
Porter continued to release music as a solo artist and also worked as a producer and songwriter for other artists. She has collaborated with artists such as E-40, Snoop Dogg, and Too Short.
