Edward Maya (born June 26, 1986) is a Romanian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is known for his single "Stereo Love", which reached number one in Romania, England, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, and was certified gold in France, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. Maya was born and raised in Constanţa, Romania. He began his career as a DJ and house music producer. In 2006, he released his first single, "This Is My Life", as DJ Edward Maya. In 2009, he released his first album, The Stereo Love Show, which reached number one in Romania. His single "Stereo Love", featuring Vika Jigulina, was an international success, reaching number one in Romania, England, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Maya released his second album, The Maya Way, in 2011. He later released a single in collaboration with Mia Martina, titled "El Torito", which reached number one in Canada. In 2012, he released a single in collaboration with Alicia Keys, titled "Girl On Fire."
