BIOGRAPHY
Sandy Ground Factory is a Franco-Caribbean group originating from Martinique, formed in 2001 and composed of five musicians: Sandy Ground (singer and guitarist), Jean-Philippe Décimus (bassist), Pascal Richard (pianist), Lionel Beaubrun (percussionist) and Cyril Atef (drums).
The group gained popularity in Martinique with their first album, "Roots", released in 2003. Their music blends Caribbean, African and Latin influences, and their style is often compared to that of Manu Chao.
In 2005, Sandy Ground Factory participated in the creation of the collective "Djam Leblon", a Franco-Brazilian group formed to fight against the pollution of Leblon beach in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2007, the group released their second album, "Tropical Groove", recorded in Martinique, Brazil and France, which was well received by critics and helped them gain international recognition.
In 2009, they took part in the "Caravane Passe-Partout" tour across France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada.
In 2010, their third album, "3", was recorded in Martinique, France and Brazil, and was also well received by critics.
Since then, the group has released several albums and participated in various tours around the world, gaining international recognition and appreciation.
