Sika Osei (born October 11, 1988), better known by his stage name Sika, is a Ghanaian-American hip-hop artist and songwriter. He is best known for his first single "No Lie", which reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Early life
Sika was born in Ghana, but moved to the United States with his family at the age of four. He was raised in Queens, New York, and began rapping at the age of 12. He attended Queens College, where he studied business administration.
Career
Sika began his musical career in 2010, when he released his first mixtape, The Black Book. The mixtape was well received and led to him being signed by Atlantic Records. He released his second mixtape, The White Book, in 2011.
In 2012, Sika released his first single, "No Lie", which reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. The success of the single led to him being featured on the cover of XXL magazine. He subsequently released the singles "I'm Different" and "Turn Down for What".
In 2014, Sika released his first studio album, Black and White. The album reached number 7 on the Billboard 200.
In 2016, Sika was featured on the single "Light It Up" by Major Lazer, which reached number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2018, Sika was featured on the single "All the Stars" by Kendrick Lamar, which reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
