BIOGRAPHY
Kiri Tse is a Chinese composer of contemporary classical music. Born in China in 1965, she grew up in Australia. After studying music at the University of Melbourne, she went on to study composition and conducting at the University of Cologne, Germany. In 1992, she won the prestigious Kranichsteiner Musikpreis award in Darmstadt, Germany. Since then, she has composed numerous works for orchestra, choir, chamber ensembles, and solo instruments. Her compositions have been performed worldwide by renowned ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic, London Sinfonietta, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble intercontemporain, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and the Chinese Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, she was appointed as composer-in-residence of the Chinese Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 2008, she became a member of the Chinese Academy of Arts.
