Tiësto is a world-renowned music artist hailing from the Netherlands. Born on January 17, 1969, as Tijs Michiel Verwest, he began mixing records in his teenage years and quickly started composing original tracks. He chose the stage name "Tiësto", a variation of his first name.
He was named "Best DJ of all time" by MixMag magazine in 2011, and won the Grammy Award for "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical" in 2015.
