BIOGRAPHY
DJ Kaya, whose real name is Kaya Thomas, is a French DJ, producer, and musician of Antillean origin born in Paris in 1977 and currently based in Berlin.
He began his career playing reggae and hip-hop in Parisian clubs, before co-founding the electronic music label Jarring Effects with French DJ and producer Laurent Garnier in 2000. Jarring Effects enabled the release of DJ Kaya's first albums, including "Reggae Soundclash" (2001) and "Babylon By Bus" (2003).
In 2006, DJ Kaya released his third album, "Tropical Soundclash," featuring notable collaborations with artists such as Matisyahu, David Guetta, and Busta Rhymes.
He is also known for his remixes for artists like Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga. In 2011, his fourth album, "Global Soundclash," was released, featuring collaborations with Junior Reid, Snoop Dogg, and Bob Sinclar.
DJ Kaya has also worked with French artists such as Booba, La Fouine, and Soprano. His fifth album, "Reggae Soundclash 2," was released in 2014 and featured collaborations with Matisyahu, David Guetta, and Busta Rhymes.
In 2016, he released his sixth album, "Tropical Soundclash 2," featuring international collaborations with artists like Junior Reid, Snoop Dogg, and Bob Sinclar.
