"Franz Ferdinand is a Scottish rock band from Glasgow. Formed in 2001 by Alex Kapranos and Bob Hardy following the dissolution of their previous band, The Karelia, they were joined by Nick McCarthy in 2002. The band's debut album, Franz Ferdinand, was released in 2004 and reached the top of the charts in the UK. The album was also critically acclaimed, and the single "Take Me Out" became an international hit. The band's second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, was released in 2005 and reached the number two spot on the UK charts. The third album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, was released in 2009 and also topped the UK charts. In 2013, the group released their fourth studio album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action."
