BIOGRAPHY
Kaltflut is a German electronic music duo originating from Cologne. The group consists of two members, Thomas Klein and Jörg Heilmann, who began working together in 2001. In 2003, they released their self-titled first album "Kaltflut", followed by two other albums in 2006 and 2009, titled "Nachtflug" and "Aufbruch", respectively.
Kaltflut's musical style is difficult to categorize, blending elements of techno, trance, house, and drum and bass. Their powerful and hypnotic beats are created using electronic instruments, accompanied by synthesizers and vocal samples. Their songs often carry a political or social message, giving them an "engaged" dimension.
In 2003, Kaltflut won the public's "Coup de cœur" award at the electronic music festival "Melt! Festival". Their song "Nachtflug" was selected to feature on the festival's official compilation in 2006. The group has also shared the stage with electronic music giants such as Paul van Dyk, Fatboy Slim, and The Chemical Brothers.
In 2009, their third album "Aufbruch" received critical acclaim, being described as an "emotional journey through space and time" and an "ode to life and love". In 2010, Kaltflut was nominated for the "Best Album" award at the German Electronic Music Awards.
Kaltflut is an exciting and innovative group, with a unique and recognizable sound. Their tracks, both energizing and melancholic, have the power to touch hearts and minds.
