Matthew Spencer is an electronic and hip-hop musician from Los Angeles, California. He began his career as a producer and DJ, before releasing his debut solo album, Matthew Spencer, in 2016. Spencer is known for his melancholic melodies and catchy beats, and has collaborated with numerous artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. In 2019, he released his second album, Black Magic, to critical acclaim and reached number one on the Billboard 200. Additionally, Spencer is the founder of the independent label Gold Standard Music Group, which includes artists such as rappers Nipsey Hussle and Jay Rock.
