Simple MInds

BIOGRAPHY

Simple Minds is a Scottish rock band, formed in Glasgow in 1977. Over the years, they have achieved massive success by creating music that is both bold and innovative. They are primarily known for their popular songs such as "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and "Alive and Kicking". The band consists of Jim Kerr (vocals), Charlie Burchill (guitar), Mel Gaynor (drums), Andy Gillespie (keyboards), and Ged Grimes (bass). With their album "Real to Real Cacophony" in 1979, they began experimenting with a more electro sound. They reached the peak of their career with the album "New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)" in 1982, which propelled them onto the international stage. In their 40-year career, Simple Minds has sold over 60 million albums and continues to produce unforgettable music. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, the ultimate sign of their lasting impact on the global music scene. Although the band has experienced personnel changes over the years, Kerr and Burchill have remained constant, continuing to write and produce new music. To date, Simple Minds has released a total of 18 studio albums, with the most recent being "Walk Between Worlds" in 2018.
