BIOGRAFIA
Chris De Burgh, nato il 15 ottobre 1948, è un cantautore britannico-irlandese, noto per i suoi brani "Lady in Red" e "Don't Pay the Ferryman".
Nato in Irlanda e cresciuto in Irlanda e Inghilterra, De Burgh ha studiato al St. Michael's College di Hertfordshire, in Inghilterra. Dopo il diploma, si è arruolato presso la Royal Military Academy Sandhurst ed ha prestato servizio nell'esercito britannico per due anni. Dopo aver lasciato l'esercito, ha studiato commercio internazionale all'Università di Westminster.
Nel 1974, De Burgh ha firmato un contratto con A&M Records. Il suo primo album, "Crusader", è uscito nel 1975. Il suo secondo album, "Spanish Train and Other Stories", è uscito nel 1976 ed ha raggiunto il terzo posto nel Regno Unito e il secondo posto in Irlanda. Il suo terzo album, "Eastern Wind", è uscito nel 1977.
De Burgh ha ripreso la sua carriera musicale nel corso degli anni '80. Il suo album "Into the Light" è uscito nel 1986 ed ha raggiunto il primo posto nel Regno Unito e in Irlanda, con "Lady in Red" come hit mondiale. Nel 1988 ha pubblicato l'album "Flying Colours", che ha raggiunto il secondo posto nel Regno Unito e in Irlanda.
De Burgh ha continuato a pubblicare album negli anni '90 e 2000, tra cui "The Storyman" nel 2006, "Moonfleet & Other Stories" nel 2009 e "Footsteps 2" nel 2012.
