Urodził się w Montrealu, w Kanadzie, w 1968 roku, Vice wychowywał się na muzyce elektronicznej. Już jako młody chłopak pasjonował się dźwiękami i tanecznymi beatami muzyki techno, wkrótce zaczął tworzyć własne utwory w latach 90. XX wieku. Z biegiem lat jego muzyka ewoluowała, od twardej techno do bardziej eksperymentalnej i awangardowej. Vice eksperymentował również z wieloma gatunkami muzycznymi, od hip-hopu do muzyki klasycznej. Oprócz kariery solowej, współpracował z wieloma artystami i zespołami, w tym z DJ/producentami Richie Hawtinem i Johnem Acquavivą, kanadyjskim raperem K-os, a także virtuozem skrzypiec Joshemuą Bellu. Vice również znany jest ze swoich efektownych i fascynujących występów na żywo, łączących muzykę, wideo i sztukę wizualną.
